Marielle Carleton is a writer recently relocated to New York City in pursuit of creative opportunities. She continues to dedicate her free time to honing her craft, exploring various writing forms such as songs, poems, screenplays and more.

In 2024, she received her BA in Film and Creative Writing at the University of Essex. In her final year, she wrote a feature length, female led, comedy screenplay (and complimentary dissertation), both of which received a first class mark. She also worked as a production assistant on multiple student short films.

She aims to lend a writer’s and assistant’s perspective to her film reviews. She often watches films in awe, jaw on the floor, amazed by something coming off a page and being put onto the screen.
